The Constitutional Court has found the voting in of Kosovo’s government invalid, and has demanded the Acting President to announce snap elections.
The decision was published on the Constitutional Court’s website on Monday.
Kosovo’s largest party Vetevendosje (LVV) had asked the court to review the voting in on June 3 of the Hoti Government, claiming that MP Etem Arifi’s vote was invalid due to him being sentenced to prison at the time of the vote.
The government was voted in with the minimum votes required: 61 of 120 parliamentary seats.
More than six months after the review request, the Court decided in favor of LVV, and asked for snap elections to be held within 40 days from their announcement.
