All big political parties in Kosovo have disregarded restrictions imposed by the government during the pandemic as they officially launched their electoral campaigns on Wednesday.

Restrictions prohibit rallies with more than 30 people in closed rooms, and all gatherings of more than 50 people in open spaces.

However, this did not keep the Vetevendosje Party, Democratic League of Kosovo, Democratic Party of Kosovo, Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, NISMA Party from organizing rallies with way more than 50 people.

It remains unclear whether Kosovo’s police responded to the legal violations accordingly.

Kosovo will hold general elections on February 14.
