What Do We Know About Vlora Hyseni, Albania's Suspended Intelligence Chief

Vlora Hyseni ran Albania's State Intelligence Service (SHISH) for more than three years. Yet little is known about her.

She has given almost no interviews, and no official biography of her exists. Most of what has been published comes from a few media profiles. These often repeat each other without naming sources, and some get basic dates wrong.

Almost nothing is known about her private life.

Here is what is established, what has only been reported, and what has been claimed without evidence.

Established facts

3 April 2023: appointed by President Bajram Begaj, more than two weeks after the nomination. The presidency never explained the delay.
