The British Embassy in Tirana has called on the Albanian government to engage in constructive dialogue with stakeholders regarding its plan to demolish the National Theatre.
The embassy retweeted the supportive message of EU Commissioner for Culture Mariya Gabriel against demolition, and wrote:

The reactions come after the Tirana Municipal Council secretly and illegally approved a decision on Thursday to demolish the National Theatre.
Commissioner Gabriel has expressed the European Commission’s support for Tirana’s National Theatre earlier also, when it was placed on the Europa Nostra ‘7 Most Endangered’ list.
